ABOUT

WHO WE ARE

Tina Montemayor Design is an interior design studio that specializes in creating bespoke interiors for changemakers. Founded by Tina Montemayor, her approach employs a highly collaborative process to assure her clients enjoy a tailored and elevated experience from start to finish.

We’re able to distill individual needs, habits and desires to formulate spaces that are both intuitive and authentic - spaces that essentially work in every sense. Rather than subscribe to a particular style, Tina's aesthetic is informed by a combination of fine and street art, nature, and fashion rooted in the Client's story to create legacy, timeless interiors.

Tina's passion for craft and helping creators become the best versions of themselves has led to projects for changemakers and C-suite individuals in the industries of advertising, technology, and medicine.

Tina Montemayor

Founder and Principal Designer

Tina was born and raised in Fremont, California, a town 30 miles east of San Francisco. She took up drafting in junior high and immediately fell in love with the process of spatial planning. And during her senior year of high school, enrolled in interior design at the Regional Occupational Program where she learned design principles, color theory, and furniture design - the key tenants of interiors - and was selected to participate in an Ethan Allen internship out of high school. She ended up pursuing a degree and career in advertising instead. Nearly 20 years, 3 of her own home projects, and a successful career as a creative recruiter later, Tina slowly started taking on interior design projects through friends and word of mouth and fell in love with the practice all over again.

  • In 2021, Tina founded Tina Montemayor Design and has since helped the ad agency she works for undergo a remodel and designed a new build in Portland for a Nike executive. Her design work has been featured in shelter and trade magazines such as Rue Magazine, Kitchen & Bath News, and The Knot and she has contributed her design expertise to national publications such as MSN.

Tina lives in Oakland, California with her husband, two daughters, and four rescues. Current projects include a new bar build for a San Francisco Ad Agency and consulting on private residences in Oakland, LaMorinda, and beyond.
