WHO WE ARE

Tina Montemayor Design is an interior design studio that specializes in creating bespoke interiors for changemakers. Founded by Tina Montemayor, her approach employs a highly collaborative process to assure her clients enjoy a tailored and elevated experience from start to finish.

We’re able to distill individual needs, habits and desires to formulate spaces that are both intuitive and authentic - spaces that essentially work in every sense. Rather than subscribe to a particular style, Tina's aesthetic is informed by a combination of fine and street art, nature, and fashion rooted in the Client's story to create legacy, timeless interiors.

Tina's passion for craft and helping creators become the best versions of themselves has led to projects for changemakers and C-suite individuals in the industries of advertising, technology, and medicine.

Founder and Principal Designer

Tina Montemayor was born and raised in Fremont, California, just east of San Francisco. Her passion for interiors began early, when she discovered drafting in middle school and went on to study design principles, color theory, and furniture design through a Regional Occupational Program, earning an Ethan Allen internship straight out of high school. Though her professional path first led to a two-decade career in advertising and creative recruiting, Tina continued to nurture her design sensibility. Ultimately, she returned to her first love—interior design—launching her namesake studio with a focus on creating refined, soulful spaces that balance modern luxury with personal storytelling.

  • In 2021, Tina founded Tina Montemayor Design, a boutique studio known for its warm, moody, and elevated approach to interiors. Her work reflects a balance of sophistication and soul, blending refined materials, sculptural accents, and intentional storytelling to create spaces that feel both modern and timeless.

    Tina’s perspective has been featured in leading publications including Elle Decor, Apartment Therapy, Real Simple, and Dwell, with work showcased in shelter and trade outlets such as Rue Magazine, Kitchen & Bath News, The Real Deal and The Knot.

    She continues to consult on private residences and boutique projects throughout the Bay Area and beyond, where her focus is on crafting highly personalized, design-driven environments for creatives, tastemakers and changemakers.

    Based in Oakland, California, Tina lives with her husband, two daughters, and three rescues.
